Lend a Helping Hand Up

“Smile Africa, there is a new day dawning,” is the first line in the chorus of the inspiring theme song written by Chris Ellom. As if by revelation, Chris saw the dawning of a new age, becoming the capital of a less selfish time -- with great potential for people, big and small, to do public good more than ever before.

As the children and youth of Africa dream of being lifted up to desirable places in life, even the common, well-beaten path along the valleys and over the hills pose enormous challenges. If Chris is right, having walked the path himself as a young boy growing up in his native country of Ghana, the new day dawning means they don’t have to make the journey alone. And that you and I will be there to give a helping hand up, somewhere, somehow, sometime.
